The world’s largest trauma conference comes to Mexico
Healing Across Cultures: Spirituality, Wisdom and Practice
Transform Trauma Mexico, in partnership with Newman Institute, brings together some of the world’s most influential voices in trauma research, therapy, neuroscience, and integrative healing for an extraordinary two-day gathering in the Riviera Maya. Explore where modern science meets spirituality and ancestral wisdom, gaining new perspectives and practical approaches to deepen healing across cultures.
19–20 February 2027
Tulum Event Center, Mexico and Online

Learn from the pioneers shaping the future of trauma and healing
Learn directly from globally recognised leaders alongside emerging and cross-cultural practitioners, as they share cutting-edge insights, practical tools, and transformative approaches aligned with this year’s theme: Healing Across Cultures: Spirituality, Wisdom and Practice.
More speakers to be announced.

Building on the foundation of Oxford 2026, Transform Trauma Mexico will be a landmark gathering where ancient wisdom and modern science meet. Set within a region rich in ancestral traditions, the theme places culture, spirituality, and indigenous knowledge at the centre of the conversation on trauma and healing, and how these can deepen and expand contemporary therapeutic approaches.
At the same time, Transform Trauma Mexico represents an important moment of expansion – bringing world-leading experts and leading-edge developments in trauma science and integrative care into Central America, where access to this level of training, integration, and global dialogue has not been as widely available.
By creating a space that is both accessible and culturally attuned, the conference supports a meaningful broadening of understanding and practice across the region.
Where healing cultures converge
The Riviera Maya is one of the most spiritually and culturally significant landscapes in the world. Home to ancient Mayan civilisation, bordered by jungle and the Caribbean Sea, this is a place where the depth of human history and the natural world meet – and where the theme of Healing Across Cultures feels not just fitting, but alive.
There is something about being in this part of the world that invites a different quality of presence. That quality is woven into everything we have designed for this event.
The conference venue
The Tulum Event Center is set within the jungle of the Riviera Maya – a space built to bring large communities together, surrounded by the sounds and presence of the natural world. It is a setting that holds the scale of our full gathering while keeping you connected to the environment outside.

The local currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). While credit cards are widely accepted in major cities, resort areas, and established stores, cash is essential for street food, local taxis, tips, and smaller markets. We recommend notifying your bank before traveling to prevent fraud blocks.

Within a region long connected to nature, ceremony and collective ways of gathering, the experience invites a different relationship with both the work and one another.

The Gathering is exclusively available to in-person conference attendees.
- Can I share a room at the retreat?
